Water Treatment for Sterile Processing: Autoclaves and Sterile Washers

Jul 10, 2023  ยท  2 min read

Equipment: Dechlorination, reverse osmosis, deionization

Applications: Surgery centers, eye surgery, dental offices, central sterile processing departments

If you currently buy distilled water for sterile processing, we can almost certainly save you money and give you better water quality for your autoclave or sterile washer at the same time.

Purchased distilled water is expensive per gallon, requires storage and handling, and its quality depends on a supply chain you don’t control. On-site treatment gives you consistent feed water and removes the delivery dependency entirely.

Water quality matters here for two reasons. Dissolved minerals leave deposits on instruments and inside chamber components, shortening equipment life and affecting the reprocessing result. And chlorides in particular attack stainless steel, which is why dechlorination sits ahead of the RO and DI stages.

We size systems across the full range — from small units feeding a countertop autoclave in a dental office, up to large-scale installations serving hospital central sterilization rooms.

We also offer routine service plans to keep you running and compliant with AAMI TIR34 water quality standards.
